['retkɪ], Theodore Huebner, amerikanischer Lyriker, * Saginaw (Michigan) 25. 5. 1908, ✝ Bainbridge Island (Washington) 1. 8. 1963; ab 1947 Professor für englische Literatur an der University of Washington in Seattle; schrieb zunächst den Metaphysical Poets und der romantischen Tradition (besonders W. B. Yeats) verpflichtete Natur- und Bekenntnislyrik, entwickelte sich dann zu einem markanten Vertreter der lyrischen Moderne, der in intensiven konkreten Bildern und experimentellen Formen persönliche Erfahrungen wie Isolation, Identitätszerfall, Sinnsuche und Sehnsucht nach Sicherheiten, Liebe und geistiger Wiedergeburt beschwor.
